the last 2 weeks have been textbook Agar, you play well and unexpectedly win, then the fans start dreaming of better things...this result is then followed up by a complete stinker...and so this process continues, until before you know it its the end of the season and Agar is busy saying how 'next year will be the one' fast forward a year and this cycle of inconsistency and averageness continues.

Yes we need a captain who is on the pitch more but the players need to up things for the next game.

Southern seems out of shape to me. He can't play enough minutes to justify being captain. You know what he is far from my favourite player but the best bet seem to be mathers.

A full-back is often the best choice for skipper. They usually spend the 80 minutes on the field and their field of view usually gives them the best panorama. They do require the mental capacity to be a skipper though and I think that's where Mathers could fall short.

I agree Mathers could be captain; but i think he has mental capacity to be captain- he has high amounts of confidence and seems to get on well with the team. I know those are not the full list of everything you need to be a captain, but I think he would be a good candidate
