To come out of our opening 4 games with 2 wins against the teams we have been up against is a big achievement. Massive credit to the team and backroom staff. Hopefully we can maintain this level of performance and have a good crack at getting into the playoffs.
Hard to pick out the best performers from that game as it was a big team performance, but Croft deserve a lot of praise for how he has started this season. Considering fans would have quite happily seen him leave before the start of last season to where he is now considering a very capable team player speaks volumes for his commitment and attitude.
I’m looking forward to maybe seeing some more fringe players against Hudds next week like Russell, Rourke, Smith and hopefully some returning players from injury like Griffin and Cozza…we might even get a surprise appearance from Rodwell? I’m not saying I’d like wholesale changes but some players definitely deserve a week off.
I can’t see us rotating players out for the Challenge Cup as it represents our best chance of silverwear this season and that would boost our IMG score. Absolutely. Both Matt Ellis and Powell have said that we want to be winning trophies and resting players for a cup game, against SL opposition isnt going to win us anything. Granted, Wigan may have been tired from their Vegas trip but, Huddersfield were beating them at HT yesterday. We will need to perform well to beat them. I wouldn’t expect many changes but Rodwell and Scott can’t be far away from being ready. I’d possibly swap Rodwell onto the bench or Scott for Cozza if fit. Would be tempted to alternate back in either Walmsley or Roarke only the right wing and rest Russell for the short turnaround vs Hull fc. I can see a couple of fresh bodies rotating in for FC with the short turn around like Russell, Roarke, Scott, Rodwell, maybe Pitts if he’s back. It’s good to be getting some players back but Powell will no doubt go with his strongest who he thinks will be most effective vs Hudds which I’m all for. I honestly would have confidence in any of our squad to do the business.

| Hamlin-Uele and McMeeken both named in Love Rugby League's team of the week with this quote about McMeeken... "McMeeken was thrust into loose forward against Warrington on Sunday, and excelled in the 13 role. The veteran made an utterly remarkable 170 metres at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, taking in 20 carries – the joint-most of anyone on the field alongside Wire skipper George Williams. McMeeken also made more tackles than any Wakefield player with 36. Beast mode activated."

| Don't think Scott will be back yet. He was a 12 week recover and needs to be brought back slowly. And we really don't need him right now considering Pratt has his place.

| I agree with the majority, no chance should we be resting / rotating if we don’t want to. We’re in this to win games and trophies, forget IMG ratings - we want silverware and this weekend is an excellent chance to progress.
Rodwell and Scott are still both a long way off from full recovery, never mind then regaining first grade fitness.
Those McMeeken stats are actually wrong, but in the best sense - because he actually scored higher with 184 run metres.

I don’t think it’s ever been 12 weeks. See this article from Powell 3/4 weeks ago stating 6 weeks so Scott will be due back Hudds or Hull. I’d imagine similar for Rodwell. Here’s the link: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/daryl-powell-issues-key-wakefield-trinity-injury-update-ahead-of-super-league-opener/ar-AA1yZ7FpI personally can’t see where Scott will play at the moment. I predicted before the season Pratt would start the season and once he gets hold of the starting spot he won’t give it up. Hall is playing very well too so where to fit him in I’m not sure but maybe on bench and a spell at second row. With a short turn around some players will need spelling. It would be nice to run up an early lead vs Hudds so we could spell someone like Mckmeeken with the Hull game coming up but that’s not likely perhaps.

There is know way Pratt can be left out of the team ,Hall as got to be the one to make way for Scott but think Hall is doing enough to keep is place ,just needs something to go for him to push him to the next level .

| I assure you he isn't coming back from a torn hamstring that quickly. Especially when he's had injury worries before. But I guess we'll find out soon enough.

| It'd be harsh on Corey Hall as he hasn't done much wrong, but he'd be the one to make way for Scott in my opinion.

| It's gonna be a hard one when Cam's back fully fit. IMO he was our best centre before he got hurt and he looked like he was gonna have that Bill Topou like presence in attack, but Pratt's been awesome and Hall's done nothing wrong at all. Cam's also a good back-rower who could slip into that position if we needed him to, so if everyone's fit, it's gonna get interesting. Others can come down injured at any time, so by the time Rodwell, Seth and Cam are back we may need them, it's what usually happens. we rarely have a full top 21 players to pick from. Hope we do mind.
On Big Mike, he's been outstanding evergame so far and has just been leading from the front and he seems to bring everyone around him up to his level, it's what good players and leaders do. Tbf the whole back has been really impressive, Stourton looks like an England prospect, Pitts doing what Pitts does and Vagana is looking like the player we all thought he'd become, plus Caleb has settled into SL life comfortably as well. Oh yeah, Hood's having probably the best start to a season he's ever had imo.
I feel a bit for Rourke, he seems too good to be sat out most games, he's just played against Hull KR hasn't he? but I suppose that's the upside of having a deeper squad with SL quality back up's. No doubt he'll get a chance to show what he's about at some point, but I'd forgotten he'd only signed a year contract.

It’s not me you need to assure. It’s Daryl Powell who said 6 weeks 4 weeks ago. The article is from DP so maybe hes got it wrong and you may be right. Hope not though as it would be nice to have him back rather than wait another 7/8 weeks.
