|
Salford are officially in special measures now.
Can't spend more than £1.2million and can't register new players
So they have to let some players go.[/quote:3t0lww56]
£800,000 to cut of player wages.
The reality is even with their highest earners that 8-10 players they need to move on.

|
Leaving space for a couple of players could have been a master stroke here.
A couple of strong players from a team who finished in playoffs could really give us a positive boost.
I guess any transfer fee would be welcome and aid Salford too.[/quote:j6i174ck]
The thing is, if they'd sold a player a week ago they'd have got a better fee than now when everyone knows they have to sell.
The money they have to save isn't all in player contracts but it's a significant number so they are going to have to lose a few.

I assume the 800k reductions in overheads will pretty much be all in player contracts, being that they need to get down to £1.2million on the cap, I doubt they are very far off 2 million as they were at 1.8 last year before signing the likes of Marsters, Nikorema and Hill.

| You would think Cas are another club with plenty of cap space?
Excellent opportunity for Jepson, who will be outright owner of the club in just over 2 weeks time, to splash the cash and drastically improve his squad.

|
Now it seems extremely unlikely that Bain moving on has nothing to do with what’s going on at Salford. Only us and Huddersfield with quota and cap room. We’re signing at least one from Salford aren’t we. Really hope it’s MacDonald or Lafai, with a Watkins chaser.[/quote:1lpq4v74]
Salford fans seem to think Lafai is going home.
