Now it seems extremely unlikely that Bain moving on has nothing to do with what’s going on at Salford. Only us and Huddersfield with quota and cap room. We’re signing at least one from Salford aren’t we. Really hope it’s MacDonald or Lafai, with a Watkins chaser. MacDonald would give us an absolute weapon on the wing if either Walmsley doesn’t quite crack it, or TJ isn’t fit. Or he could be a strike centre and realistically slot straight in on the left side. Or he can cover at fullback (where he killed it for PNG in the Pacific Cup recently), though that seems less likely given Rourke is a ready-made backup.
