| [quote="FSW":v8plc30p]It's a Dylan song, just saying.[/quote:v8plc30p]
Not really.
Sure he wrote it, but the Manfreds made it a hit.
The Beatles didn’t right twist and shout but you’d still call it a Beatles song.
Dylan is a true enigma. He was a brilliant writer but a lousy performer. Any other genre of music he’d never of been allowed anywhere near a microphone.
Hence almost every song he wrote was taken by other artists and made infinitely better. So much so that imho they became virtually new songs. Even the ones he did make a decent stab at and managed to have a hit with have been better covered by other artists since.
I shouldn’t think he’s bothered, the song writer gets most of the royalties no matter who sings it. I like Bob, he knows he’s a crap singer and doesn’t bother to hide it.

| Back to the point.
Start me up by the Stones. That opening riff cuts through anything and immediately draws your attention. Also the main lyric is quite apt, yes it has sexual overtones, but not many rock lyrics don’t.
However there are loads really, but it’s worth remembering that most of the sixties stuff is out of copyright, so that’s where I’d look tbh.

Cringeworthy that one. Not to my liking. Enough to put you to sleep.
Something a bit more livelier like Scooter Nessaja.
Think I’ve had my fill over past decades with the same old tunes. Wouldn’t hurt to try something different. I’d prefer it to be upbeat though.
I really don’t care that much what they come out to though personally. But they need something to come out to and get fans in the feels.
