Quote: The Phantom Horseman "I would think you are probably right about Pratt and Jowitt.
I'd be surprised if Powell gets coach of the year though, it very rarely goes to the coach of a dominant team, for instance Adrian Lam didn't win it in 2022 despite Leigh losing only one early-season game all year, it went to Paul Crarey that year, Sylvain Houles didn't win it in 2021 despite Toulouse going unbeaten etc when Craig Lingard won it. I would think Applegarth is the obvious candidate for COTY after turning York's season around, unless he's deemed not to have been there for long enough, in which case flip a coin between Houles and Coleman.
The Championship used to do a dream team but that stopped a few years ago.'"
That’s a real shame. It would have been nice to have some awards evening for the league for the clubs and players.
In reality the other clubs won’t come close and it should be Powell as coach of year but for the sake of not giving all the awards to one club I can see it going elsewhere. Not Houles or Toulouse though. They’ve not been great last month or two.
York - they’re probably where they expected to be start of season with the resurgence.
No club has truly impressed from expectations which makes it difficult.
