I think Welsby is a good player, but I don`t subscribe to this idea that he is a world beater, but that`s just me. I saw Wells saying a couple of months back that he thought he was the best fullback in world rugby, which is beyond ludicrous for me.

I have have often thought, I wonder if you would have put Max in the sides that Welsby has come through playing in, how he would look, I`m not sure there would be a great deal of difference in how good a player he would look.

Exactly my point. However you say it, Wakefield are an unfashionable club.
It's not that they are picking on us, but Max is currently playing part time players so isn't going to be viewed the same as a Super League player.
Same as when we were in SL. It's harder to show your worth if you are always in a dog fight and never playing in the big cup or end of season games.

Hopefully we'll get him that chance, but I very much doubt we'll have changed hearts and minds by next mid season international.

I've being saying to my family for a while that Max is a superb player. If you swap Max and Welsby everyone would be going on about how good he is. Both have flaws in there game. Max has a passing game that eclipses Welsby, but Welsby is more destructive ball in hand. Neither can defend for toffee.
