Quote: WT_Midlander "In terms of actual numbers, it's hard to say how many. Because it's a multiple final day, the 64845 obviously doesn't tell you anything about individual support. We would only know if the club told us exactly how many tickets they had sold. Then you'd have to add on some more, for fans who bought their tickets independently.

I think there's a tendency to exaggerate numbers, especially when the vocal support has been good and it's been a great win. You look around you and it feels like the whole ground is cheering with you, when obviously it's not. As a lifelong football fan, everytime I hear someone say "we took 10,000 to so-and-so", I always halve it immediately!

If you really want to try and estimate numbers, take the ground capacity (90,000 in Wembley's case), and try and work out the % of fans. IMHO I'd estimate our support at no more than 5,000, which is superb for a "secondary" cup competition. tbh I don't think it really matters. Personally I judge a fanbase more by it's vocal support, than by sheer numbers. It was a great turnout, we supported our team superbly and everyone had a great day out.'"

We know we sold more than 5000 just by the numbers being sold in the shop.

I thought there was about 15000 Trinity fans there…Luke Gake said afterwards that he thought there were as many Trinity fans as Warrington there….

The amount of fans we brought to Wembley has had quite a few people talking and estimating, especially on the RWB Facebook page I was looking at yesterday. Some fans say that we only had 7000 there, but I thought we sold that amount from the Club alone. Just from an eye count and comparison to when we've had over 7000 at Belle Vue recently, IMO there was a lot more than that. I'd say there must have been 10k at least that were obvious Trinity supporters and that was just behind the posts, there were probably another 1000 scattered at the sides etc.

Most importantly, let's hope that some of these who may have just gone for that big occasion, can be turned into regular season ticket holders moving forward. I know some won't and will just watch replays or on TV live if we go back up to SL. Hopefully, though this bit of success and some more at the end of the season can be the start of something that can push our attendance up, to something close to 8k home games. That would be amazing.

Don't believe anything that Luke Gake says. He can't even get his own name right. icon_biggrin.gif

The best "toilet" story I every heard, was from a work colleague.
He was a Man City fan, and in the last few minutes of the 2012 season he was dying for the loo, and couldn't wait any longer.
Cue Aguero to score one of the most dramatic goals in football's history. And my m8 who's supported Man City for 30 years, misses their greatest moment.
To make matters worse, the bloke next to him hears the noise, goes crazy, grabs my m8, and they p*ss all over each other's legs.
Suffice to say, I couldn't keep a straight face when he told me this on the Monday morning at work.
