Just read an article that Trojan Horse put up about the best up-and-coming young players who are on the verge of regular NRL game time and as he says Ty Rodwell was on the fairly short list and it says this about him
Quote: Shifty Cat "Ky Rodwell is coming off his best season to date and is knocking on the door of a regular NRL spot. The 24-year-old prop had an enormous 2023, averaging 147 running metres and 34 tackles a game for the Eels’ NSW Cup side, while also working on developing his ball-playing skills. Rodwell made his NRL debut in 2021 and got four more games in 2022 but didn’t get any opportunities in first grade last season. He was rewarded for his efforts in Cup though with the Coaches Award. With now 74 reserve grade games under his belt, Rodwell is primed for the next step.'"
I tell you 147 running meters average a game and 37 tackles are nothing to be sniffed at even in the NSW Cup especially for a Prop, they obviously see him as a prospect, with the end-of-season Coaches award and the fact he's a taste of the NRL. Whether he's the player on our radar is another thing though, but I hope he is because he looks like one of those that will be SL-ready when the time comes.'"
He sure sounds like a decent option. There were a number of promising write ups on that list. There was a halfback too who looks to be top points scorer in the NSW cup or something.
I’m really interested to see who we may bring in. With most clubs quotas filled we could be in a good position to pick up a player who could step up with Trinity in 2025 and have us challenging for playoffs.
