Would Johnstone want to come back? Surely Catalan would want to keep him.

Perhaps he wants to start a bidding war between clubs, he could make a fair bit of money that way, remember no smoke without a fire.

The home grown marquee rule certainly gives Wakefield a massive advantage regarding the salary cap restrictions.

Lets just concentrate on getting promoted first....

If we are going for a marquee like TJ in 2025, I'm thinking we'll think bigger than Walmsley.

I wouldn’t resign Johnstone unless I knew we were signing a world class centre to play inside him

Why? Most of his tries were because of his individual class not his centre.

Because time and injuries has dimmed his ability to score try’s like the special one he scored vs Hudds a few seasons ago. He specialises in finishing opportunities now, he’s the best in the world at it, so we need to have someone inside him who can create those opportunities or it’s not worth the Marquee wage we’ll have to pay him.

I'd say Jowitt provided more assists than his centre.

Be great to see TJ back but he would be 30 by the time his contract is up.
I hope we are also keeping an eye on how Murphy is progressing. Because plenty of young English players go down under and it doesn't always work out . If he is over his injury and decides to return to UK after a season or two, for various reasons I would prefer him over TJ

And Jowitt will still be here but if we’re going to pay marquee wages for a winger I’d like us to have a quality “wingers” Centre inside him to ensure we get value for money
