It's not really two separate subjects, it's the same subject but looked at from different angles. I'm not sure if you're aware how conversations work, but it's entirely normal for people to disagree with the idea and also to go on slight tangents or look at things from a different perspective.
The idea of memorialising someone in a statue before they're dead is pretty grotesque in my mind, though I'd quite like to see a big mural of some of our greats similar to how Leeds Utd have them spread around the city.
Also, since he's alive - has anyone actually asked if it's something he'd currently want?
