| Quote Scarlet Pimpernell="Scarlet Pimpernell"I think that maybe all supporters will need to learn a new mindset after 10 seasons under the current owners. I agree they have overseen our relegation, all I am saying is let’s wait and see you never know you might appreciate the changes whatever they turn out to be. I may not know the new owner but he clearly has sufficient finances which any club needs especially when IMG’s rating comes into effect. He had enough to bring in Powell compared with the option taken and continued with by the incumbents.
I am however no less a supporter just because I was fed up with how unprofessionally the incumbents ran the club and that will not change.'"
Scarlet, while I am no Carter superfan, just bear in mind there probably wouldn't be a club for Ellis to buy without him.

And a club already scoring well on IMG.
No previous owner has ever taken over a club in such a promising state, off the field.

| And not having millions of pounds in your back pocket is hardly being unprofessional.
Also, not your fault of course, but actually in the IMG world, you have lost some value as a supporter.
Previously, when you bought a season ticket but couldn't go you still added to the attendance and finances.
You now won't be counted on attendance unless you take your seat.

Yes but we need the additional finances he brings to sort out the less than promising state they left with regards our on field state both with the squad and coach. The one will not guarantee our SL return we need both to be successful. Do you believe the current incumbents have enough business acumen to maximise the off field revenue and produce a squad capable of maximising the points available or even run a full time squad.

Yes I do.
But that doesn't really matter now does it.
And you seem to have skipped past your unprofessional comment.

They probably have enough business acumen, yes , but they probably don't have the money to put in that they acknowledge is required. I think you're disgustingly disrespectful to two men who have done far more for WT than you could ever dream of.
Time to grow up and move on.

Unprofessional having the CEO appoint himself the director of rugby despite no obvious experience in this position. Having no discernible marketing of games. Not having enough staff to fill all the posts with some actually having to cover multiple posts resulting in safety concerns.
Is that how a professional sport club is run.?

It's how a sports club with limited money is run.
I'd be surprised if many of the CEOs in other clubs had any experience of running a sports club before they took over.
Same as Ellis has no experience either.

| Quote 1315trinity="1315trinity"I agree with your thanks to MC and JM.
I appreciate we're relegated, but we go down with finances in a stable position and a ground that is far superior to what it was albeit, work still to be done.
Mick Carter has had some stick on here and some criticism was justifiable, regarding his recruitment of players, but I for one haven't forgotten that he saved our club from extinction. I will be forever grateful for that.
JM came on board later but has got the best deal he can from that shambles before, of Yorkcourt etc etc - and he HAS produced a lot of what we wanted from seemingly getting nothing.
So, to all those making harsh, hurtful comments about these two guys, let them bow out with dignity and their heads held high, because they deserve to.
Or, you could always look at yourselves, which is often a good yardstick, and ask yourselves if you could have done any better. Probably not eh?'"
Would agree with all the points listed by 1315, but I do think that is tenure has been soured a little by his often blatant disrespect for the fans, in the end he only seemed to engage with fans when money would be forthcoming, and gave us three or four seasons of extremely poor rugby league finally culminating in relegation.

Take your point RC - I accept MC would have been better leaving some things, such as recruitment to those better equipped, and also accept his relationship with the fans was tainted with his attitude to some of them in his latter years - BUT taking that into account I'm simply saying MC (and JM) shouldn't be hung drawn and quartered as if they had totally ruined the club -as some on here would have you believe! Just think they deserve some credit for the positive things they have achieved and they be allowed to leave without ongoing bitterness and criticism to them.
