Wow I have no words. This is a fully grown man who now runs his own successful business after taking over from his parents. Theirs is absolutely no need to meet his parents unless he’s thinking of taking him out for dinner! I’ll give you something, you’re loyal, either that, brainwashed or jus blinded by faith.

| Quote PopTart="PopTart"So it would be good if Ellis answers the questions quickly, asks his questions quickly and then we move on.
But that isn't the case.'"
'Negotiation' is beyond answering standard questions about the business.
I have no axe to grind with either MC or JM, and the latter I find an affable guy who I feel has the best interests of the club at heart and has done a great job in getting the club to where we are off the field. On it has been a disaster but I see that side of the business as the CEO's.
As for asking to meet someone's parents, if true, it is pretty undermining to that individual.

| It is on this forum somewhere but it was mentioned that Matthew Ellis' father was actually investing (or investing to some degree) so, asking to meet him is the absolute right thing to do. What's also to say that ME is holding things up to see what league we are in? Yes he has helped massively to try and keep us in SL, but if that fails, maybe he is less interested.

| Quote AMI="AMI"Lots of things that both parties would need assurances on…what are the new owners plans to protect the clubs foundation, academy set up, community work, how long are they committed for, why do they want to own the club, where’s the money coming from, who will actually own the club, what happens if we get relegated, who will run it day to day…what are their credentials(!!!!). Now you might say many of those points are nothing to do with the current board but if due diligence is being done properly and to ensure the long term future of the club then it’s right those should be answered. Also Mr Ellis would have lots of questions and evidence needed from the current board.'" exactly!
Nobody is doubting Matthew Ellis financial position. He’s got plenty.. however he also appears to be a busy lad , and will probably need to have someone helping with the running of the club..
this person needs to be a fit and proper person to be able to run a sports club..
I would of thought the RFL would also be able to sleep better at night knowing who this might be or who Mr Ellis has in mind…

| Found it. Page 4 of the takeover thread - 'Alf is the real money man' (I presume, as I don't know), that he is Matthews father. So, again, if true, where huge sums of money are involved, he should be part of the DD.

So let me help you with your words.
Matthew Ellis doesn't run his own business. He runs a business owned by his parents.
The money to be invested is in that business not in Matt's pocket (though I'm sure he isn't poor). So the question was, can we meet the people with the money.....not can we meet your dad.

Meeting all investors is a very different and reasonable request.

There are 3 directors. Matthew is one of them. His parents are the other 2. Do you really think he’s just thought f$€k it I’ll go buy a rugby club without speaking to the other directors first? Without them getting a sniff of it? It’s delaying tactics and hanging on by Minards it’s as simple as that. He needs to go now and let things progress. I don’t believe that he says he’s waitning to see the business plan for the club either. The RFL have been conducting due diligence they would t even entertain it if he hadn’t submitted one they’d have told him to come back when he’s serious. Again more delaying tactics and the brainwashed are falling for it hanging on to every world JM says

If Matthew Ellis we're to walk away do you think these two have the finances to pay all the debt off they have created whilst making us competitive on the field and not rely on someone's cash injection.
I've been told the work with the rfl, the due diligence was finished weeks ago, was also told at the wigan game it was 2 more weeks which Carter was slightly disappointed with as he wanted it finished before he went away but I'm just a liar to you pop tart. Like it or not let's just say things are being made difficult at every turn and the goalposts being moved constantly. Just do the deal JM and go with your head held high knowing you have tried your best

| We are not looking at an hostile takeover but a necessary one which should be expedited without delay. We are still facing relegation and what will JM do if Ellis walks away because JM cannot fund the club. If he was a true supporter he would know that without the investment we are just facing stagnation both on and off the field.
We have been craving for investment, it may not bring back the glory days but it certainly gives us a fighting chance which on our current trajectory does not.

Its not a very good delaying tactic is it. They could answer his question in one meeting.
And what is there to delay. It was mentioned at the meeting that the rush to handover has in some ways gone away. He's given the money that helps us battle relegation. Its better to take the time over the takeover.
There is every likelihood that the delay is on Ellis's side so he can see whether we win on Friday. His investment is massively different based on that result.
