Ashurst been a great servent for us and bedn one of my fave players but been below par this year and a poor choice of csptain.cant feel this is another job for the boys /mates type of resigning adding to this how old is the pack going to be

Very difficult to compare guys from different eras but if forced I would say Bill Ashurst had a greater repertoire of skills than the other two, giving him just the edge. At their peak btw.

I would say Solomona was the same level but just in a modern era.
Ellis was immense but not comparable in skill. His kpi was physical power and effort.

I was thinking of Bill's kicking game as a major plus that neither of the others had.

Not in his time with us but I’d say at one point Ellis was probably the most skilful second row forward on the planet.
