Aye, was a master stroke of Mash to bring them into the fold. He clearly identified they would add to the team on and off the pitch and that they would be able to contribute towards the structures he’s set out.

I’ll stick my neck out and say there are no players of Dave’s ilk out there , better -yes , younger - yes , more successful -absolutely ,but unless your throwing mega money at a top Aussie there is no one I’ve seen over the recent years anywhere to touch his infectious attributes he brings to the players and fans alike . He’s a one off ,an inigma in the world of RL , as loyal as they come , a larger than life figure, and we should just savour him while he’s still here ,because when he’s gone there is no one like him to replace him ,of that I’m positive, and Belle Vue will be a far duller place without him around . I’m just hoping the club see it in their way to name at least something at the ground after him ,as I’ve seen far better players than him run out over the years , but nothing quite like the big bopper .
