Re: Chester out part 65 : Sat May 15, 2021 6:02 pm
One thing is for sure whoever is in charge next year they have to be recruiting now or if left will be asked to have players they haven't been party to recruiting.
so either back C.C
or make a decision.
Or be left with players no other club want.

In response to the current position the club find itself in just wished to post these observations.
Firstly, to make it clear that the board under Michael Carter or indeed John Minard has my full support that doesn’t mean that people who support the club unconditionally cannot have the right to express their opinion and views on firstly how the club was run historically or indeed their views on the future.
To that end if we revue how we find ourselves with the current squad and its obvious deficiencies this has to come down to recruitment last year or the lack of it.
This was due to the financial position of the club as we have been told.
Uncertainty of staying in the topflight which can and did result in paralysis.
But judgment on players in the past with just as much if not worse that the current financial position of the club proved that this can be achieved.
its easy to make retrospective judgments and can be seen to be unfair but if we don’t learn from past mistakes that is a great error.
As the heading says “Where are we now” which would seem to be we are relying on the stadium to be the hope of future success both in the IMG proposal and with it generating more income ( this can never be guaranteed)
The second hope is the white knight version which has been a failure for 50 years .
So, the question is and more importantly “what we do now”
Choices are we do nothing this season rely on the current squad and hope we don’t get relegated this justifies past decisions and if it works then relative success for now in the hope of not finishing bottom
Second option brave decisions are made “with no guarantee of success” but excepting past mistakes in not getting together the squad that won’t get relegated. This would mean decisions on both the playing side and possible coaching side and with a likely increase in cost more than just doing nothing of circa 500k and decision making by personnel to be reviewed.
This has to be taken in the light of what relegation loss of income would have on the club as against expenditure now.
Crisis problems and downward spirals can some time bring the very best out of people once hope is provided'.So where are we now'
As one who lives in hope who knows perhaps hope is nearer than most people think!
