In my opinion the reaction by many is not pre mature (your initial reaction‘beginning of the end’ is correct).

If Trinity released a fringe player or one who’s off form and looking towards the end of their rugby league career (rather than at the beginning of it) then it could be more easily understood.

Releasing a first teamer for a squad player is not good business. A fee should have also been demanded so another player could also be purchased.

The club is preparing for the Championship.

Stopping coming only only exasperates the situation as I see it , as it’s the old chicken and egg scenario, they can only spend on players what they generate, and as fans fall away so dies our expenditure on players .

I guess he does not realise that the playing decision he makes impacts the number of people attending. I said before that if he wants to know why we never reached the magic number of supporters that he looks in the mirror and asks himself could I have done more to encourage them.

But we don’t have to just turn up. We can still protest at game about how disgraceful we find the clubs actions.
Not turning up does nobody any favours but turning up and telling the club what we think about them speaks volumes and guess how much media traffic that will bring in the club and maybe someone might ‘just might’ come forward. It’s worked at many football clubs. It’s not the time to stay silent.
