W Poaching had to work with a squad he was given .Think questions should be asked about who were the players who complained about his coaching ,because it is now clear to everyone one who went tonight what a bad call it was to get rid .We left with 30 seconds on the clock ,but Wakefield fans were leaving way before that ,and a lot were saying it is the worse attacking back 7 they had seen ,And some of them had watched as long as I have .Our attack is not up to the top half teams in the champions. The team is just a set of old players who faid in the second half

Seriously though i'm not convinced either is a super league standard halfback but Smith now has his chance to prove himself in that position. And God knows we need him to.

Something has to give and quickly, we are dire and not scoring a single point in 3 games is humiliating.

Poching ultimately had better players to work with, as did Chester, and for large parts of the last 5 years we were poor. This squad isn't a patch on last seasons so it's no wonder we are struggling. We have no game breakers (other than Jowitt, Murphy and Tanginoa). The rest are just work horses at best. Pitts and Ashurts are the least dynamic back rowers in the competition. Lino only seems to spark when there is about 10 minutes left and then its often headless chicken time. Gaskell may as well not bother for all the impact he has on a game. Not seen enough of Smith in the halves to fully comment but there is a reason why he was in the championship and not SL.

Where does all these theories about crap team and poor coach work when you see one of the top coaches in our game and a club bristling with big name signing go down by 60 at Salford , what’s hulls problem or excuse ? . He's lost all 4 of those games, with 3 of them being nillings. He's simply not up to the job - never was - and shouldn't have been given the position.
The real crux of it is when you listen to his post match interviews - he already sound like the last days of Chester where he couldn't identify the problem, let alone come up with a solution to fix it.

Clearly targeted lyne and kershaw wing in second half with much joy , first a bomb knocked back into welcoming arms and ran round a static lyne to get near the posts , then two simple quick moves caught them both off guard again and pawing fresh air to go in the corner , 16 points down in the blink of an eye.
