I remember as a kid watching Trin in the 60's you could smell the wintergreen as soon as the players came on the pitch even when at the opposite side of the ground. They had so much of that stuff on their legs plus a plastering of Vaseline, they could have played on loose gravel

| I do find it strange the team who have played on it the most haven't reported issues or had player's either with infections or on antibiotics. If it was a major issue everyone would have knees like Tom.
Besides I though the ref inspected the pitch before l games and advised of its suitability.
Anyhow we have pushed it too much unnecessarily so give we usually play all our friendlies away. It should have been training for the first team only a week or so before the Catalan game to get a feel for the ground. We are where we are, if its not suitable on Friday then the 'healthy tension' between ground staff and others with regards overuse of the pitch wasnt worth it. The Bath should've been the man to decide when it is played on.

This was from John Davidson last week. He’s one of the better journalists out there and isn’t usually too far off the mark.
[iCatalans are not the only team crying foul about Wakefield's new hybrid pitch. Halfiax played Trinity at Belle Vue in pre-season and their players were badly cut from the new surface as well. One spy told us it has not bedded in properly at all yet, and surely certain players won’t be risked on that kind of surface like we have seen in the past at Widnes. Apparently the blackbirds aren’t helping the situation by landing on the surface and eating bits.[/i

| Could use Gaskell as a scarecrow like he was at FB on Friday night. No birds will go near it then.

Most teams have complained, Halifax and Fev 100% have and had cuts from their games, Look at the pictures after the Fev game and half our team have cuts on elbows and knees

Do you honestly believe the club would broadcast it if that were the case and invite criticism?

| Surely, any worries about the new playing surface would have been addressed both before the pitch was laid and after it was laid ?
I remember when Trinity were the first side to play on the new plastic pitch at Widnes, there were issues with cut knees etc.
It's staggering that there can be any serious problems.
Lets hope it's something that can be dealt with and settle down quickly ?

| The whingers in full force on face ache are all over us like a rash this morning, about this, with the usual, we need to be kicked out if the super league, with our poor facilities and poor squad.
Out of curiosity and not pitch related, did Catalams fix the issues they were having with their stadium.
