Well done some looking , he said they had 19 fit in a 21 player squad but they have 28 players on their website . So not sure it's making excuses

His squad probably has 7 players he doesn't rate as Super League standard.

I think Hull KR will struggle. Their new coach doesn't come with a great coaching CV, with assistant coach jobs at four clubs in four years, with his second stint ending with a fight in a pub with another member of staff.

Good assistants are retained. Three clubs released him after just one year, one after the other, and the fourth club he was at, Newcastle, have been poor since he joined in 2020. That doesn't scream out "well-regarded assistant coach". It screams out "nah, not for us".

Their squad is okay, but not good enough to withstand a poor coach.

I was speaking to a Cas fan that was saying McShane had been playing HB in pre season and was absolutely killing it, he`s also lost a bit of weight. it would though be strange decision IMO with all of the options they`ve got at HB to start shifting players around like that, but Radford has been known to make some strange decisions.
