| Quote: Wildcat_1 "Same as he should have done vs Toulouse at Magic, change the system that clearly wasnt working and try and find a solution, Toulouse got on a role and each cut back on the TV to poching looked like he didnt have a clue what to do to change things.
Players can be blamed but if the system is to play in the middle as soon as the ball is spread the winger (Lineham in this case) can literally do nothing if it 2/3 on 1. Granted tackle the player with the ball at the time doesnt excuse the 0 attempts and at least you have made an effort but he also wasnt fit (Clearly wasnt be this from injury or a poor preseason) and was brought back from an injury he was clearly not over, it was also the game with 2 inexperienced/none match fit centres in Minns and Croft, from memory Minns was miles away most of the time and croft was like a rabbit in headlights.
Lineham then didnt play for may be 3/4 of the season so who is to blame for all the below par performances prior to the Cas game? when the reality hit i genuinely believe the players who were leaving wanted to make the effort to turn the tide, and if players had given feedback probably explains why poching didnt have his contract renewed'"
Again, forgetting the reality of the time. There was no one else to play. Poching played the players available.
It's easy to criticise tactics based on the look on Poching's face but it's hardly knowledgeable analysis. Whereas not putting a tackle in, especially when you have a young centre inside you is a personal issue not a tactical issue.

| I'm a bit on the fence with this one.
Like him or not, he is one of our more experienced players, and will have seen set ups at other clubs that have enjoyed more success in the pitch than we have.
At the same time, Poching's record wasn't that bad, as some think. For me, the question was, has Poching just continued where Chester left off.
Sometimes, in any career, if systems don't work, and can be improved, is it not a good idea to speak up.
Lineham, just now needs to prove himself and pay a bit back to the club with good performances

Head of Youth, so was involved in coaching a team, team set-ups, seeking out talent, strategy. The same pathway as Shaun Wane. A bit more than noting down what the head coach barks as you during a game and implementing someone else's strategy. Head of youth has to have his own strategy, I would have thought.

Before that I think he needs to keep his gob shut and his face off the screens.

He had a win % so where in the mid 40s which is up there with Shane McNally and Andy Kelly, he must have been doing something right'"
I think the late season player mutiny that was allegedly led by Milky and Dave etc to get the players geed up helped that win %

| I hope Lineham has a great season for us whenever and if he plays. And the best of luck to him.
But he does come across as a tool. And it bothers me, because it is a distraction to the team, and I feel it devalues a level of the professionalism that Mash is trying to build into the club. I'm not sure of the merit of saying that under WP training was so lax as a veiled reason why he was 10 kilos over weight and laughed after every try at Salford. I think it's a credibility thing. The only way he is going to rectify that is be brilliant this year - and then he can be as much of a clown as he likes. But until then...
