How i read it is they only have to pay them if we wish to retain the registration which would entitle compensation if they signed for a RFL Member club, if they stop paying them that waives the compensation if they then sign back in the UK.
I could be wrong but thats how i understood it

I’m guessing a few SL clubs or top champ clubs are interested but aren’t willing to part with the fee to Trinity.
Let’s not forget that these two last have been developed through the academy and into the first team with time and effort. The club I believe wanted to keep them also but the financial package couldn’t be agreed.
If we waver it the all the hard work of raising 2 good young players just gets wasted into nothing.
Seems like a no win situation for the club.

| Shame on the clubs that turned their heads but left them high and dry, not forgetting the role of their respective parasites.

| At least £45k saved in wages. Could be come in handy should a player become available mid-season.

I don't think any club did that, this is all down to their parasite agent, a dreadful example of the breed.

No they weren't, that was just fake news cooked up by their agent, which a surprising number of posters on here seemed to fall for.
Both were offered deals, both were then offered enhanced deals, but they refused. At that point Trinity would have virtually given them away. We'd almost certainly have reduced any fee once negotiations broke down. Yet no club came forward, they were suckered.
Shame. Oddly to me it looks like Crofty has got the better deal, even though Shaw IMO seemed the better prospect. Croft could improve dramatically in Oz, not sure Shaw will in France!

Croft was starting to put some good performances together for us back end of season. He certainly put on some muscle too. I was expecting him to become a good SL centre in a couple of seasons. Think he will go well at Brisbane feeder.

Should this not be posted under your other name unless it is just based on your own supposition or is it from the chip shop.

I thought Croft was progressing nicely since returning following his long injury layoff. Presumably the club still saw him as third choice centre at best, 4th if Langi was already pencilled in, and valued him accordingly.

| I like Croft and would have been happy for him to play but the team has evolved while he was injured.
