| Quote Kirmudgeonlyisback="Kirmudgeonlyisback"I have a theory however implausible - club know another season like this and we are either relegated automatically or become one of the 2 clubs that are relegated by decree from rlimg so it’s time to gamble all or nowt
Arona batch aydin to free up fafita money , trying hall in back row as it’s an area where we have little cover for next year ,
Then again 2 and 2 always add up to 7'"
To me, that would sound like we're putting all our eggs into one basket.
Huge gamble in my eyes, what would happen if early in the season, he got a bad injury, which is season ending.

| Watched Fifita set up a nice try for Hynes this weekend gone. He’s played a fair few games this year too albeit from the bench. No doubt he’ll do a great job for a year if he keeps injury free, SL isn’t like the grind of the NRL. My biggest worry is obviously what will he want money wise and keeping him motivated, hope he doesn’t see it as one big toss off with his brother seeing as though he’ll be earning 20% of what he would of been at Cronulla. Been reading West Tigers might be in for him too so who knows. I’ve mixed feelings on signing him!

He would be a good signing and one we could use to promote the club but he still only fills one shirt so let’s see who fills the others if it is true.

| David Fifita brings a bit of chaos off the bench. Add Andrew and you've got 80 minutes of chaos for the opposition. He'd be perfect for super league, even at this end of the career.
Andrew is more aggressive than David too, so would be a starting prop, with David as the prop from the bench to replace him.
If it happens, I hope it's for us.

| Quote vastman="vastman"If it happens he will have to come fairly cheap. This was going to happen two years ago when he had three seasons left in him and would have been worth breaking the bank for.
However he’s a class player and technically I have no reservations.
What I do worry about is that individually they are strong willed, together! It’s not a deal ender but it’s something to think about.
Poching has finally got them working as a unit, and to many big personalities could scupper that. It’s not our clubs job to make Daves dreams come true, it’s the other way around so it has to be serious and purely about rugby.
Over all I’d take the gamble as it’s still a coup but it needs to be made very clear from the whole club from day one what’s expected.'"
I suppose it depends what is classed as cheap. He’s been on a HUGE contract in the NRL, so at best i guess the least he would accept would be the same as his brother who happens to be our highest earner. Whilst that would be cheap in Andrews eyes it certainly wouldn’t be in ours but i doubt he’d move his young family out here for a year (or even leave them and come by himself) for buttons, we’d have to pay the going rate. And your point about them ruling the roost is a salient one, they are certainly alpha male characters and the worry is there is together there is potential for them to cause ‘unrest’. Especially when it’s a short term thing.
I’ve just read an article stating Andrew is averaging 21.7 minutes a game this season. It’s well know he has dodgy knees that prevent him playing big minutes anymore, and whilst still decent neither is he the player he was a few years back. We know big Dave tends to play 50-60 a game, so the Fifita duo is in effect 80 mins a week for about 250K a year. It’s effectively a marquee wage. Can we afford it? By that i mean for a club like ours is it value for money or could it be spent more wisely? Marketing wise it would be good for sure but it certainly comes with a risk factor.

| Probable the same average as we got from Tom.
I'd be happy if he came. If they want to play together somewhere else I hope it's not in SL. That would be very disappointing.

| Quote vastman="vastman"I agree but it cannot become the Fifita show, it is a team and that must be the case.'"
I agree but, it would bring some fun and optimism, albeit for one season only. I realise there would then be an even bigger hole to fill at the end of the season but, with a possible restructure on the cards after next season, it may be well times on multiple levels.
Also could help pull a few extra fans in and we could certainly do with those.

| Quote Kirmudgeonlyisback="Kirmudgeonlyisback"Certainly sounds like Dave and Andrew will be playing together next year - let’s hope it’s at belle vue - but as they are both ooc nothings certain. Having said that if he does sign and audits gone to kr then apart from crowther and bowes we won’t have a forward under the age of 30'"
And Whitbread and Butler
And Battye and Bowden are only just 30 which kinda puts them in their prime for a prop.

He could go to the Wests Tigers and play for a club bumping along the bottom or come to us and play with his brother for a club bumping along the bottom. Sorted !

| Memories will be the thing that entices Andrew over here , it was never going to be about the money , it’s the perfect ending for both brothers , running out together one last time , and hopefully those memories and will be made down at Belle Vue
