Quote Eastern Wildcat="Eastern Wildcat"There was a time, Vasty, when I’m sure you were one of his bigger critics.
Like others have said, he’s capable of these performances, but sadly, they don’t happen very often, which is so frustrating. In his defence, I don’t think he’s the only player in our squad like that though, and I don’t think captaincy has helped his case either, but hats off, in these last couple of wins he’s played a captains knock.
I was a big fan in the first couple of seasons, but these performances were becoming less often.
I do hope though, that if he goes, we do replace him with some real quality. Hopefully Fev will like Lineham so much that they want to take his inflated contract on and free up cap and budget space, so we can bring on quality at 6 and 7.'"
Correct I stated that in my post. First few years he was dodgy, had what I called a yip.
It’s a strange world we live in. It seems you can’t judge someone as that are at that moment without it somehow being used in evidence against you years later. So what it’s irrelevant what I or anyone else thought years ago to what we think now.
I think Lino is a really poor half back. In two seasons I may think he’s great because he may well be. However that doesn’t apply respectively despite what some on here peddle. He could go on to be man of steel but that won’t make him any less poor at this moment in time.
It’s not about bl**dy point scoring it’s about the truth. Miller imo is currently our only game breaker and has been since Finn retired. That’s just how it is.
Slightly OT, ditto Poching, the facts are that we are still second from bottom and have played some dreadful and gutless RL this season. We are playing well now but that doesn’t allow us to rewrite history to suit our argument or agendas.
I will say hand on heart the capitulation to Toulouse at Newcastle was the lowest I’ve ever seen from a Trinity side. Worse than anything I’ve witnessed in forty years and there is a lot to chose from. I’m amazed how quickly some are forgetting that, I can only assume some are besotted with WP due to accent or player reputation, no other coach has ever seemed to get off so lightly.
I fully get the massive problems we have and nobody expects wins but we do expect performances and let’s be honest it want until the Saints game that they materialised. Bit late imo.
So let’s also hope Poching does a Miller and matures into a great coach. To be fair it’s early days but the facts are that by this point both Chester and Kear were doing much better after saving a relegation threatened team or are we going to rewrite that one as well.
