| They'll be no more movement now as we're past the transfer deadline, other than loan signings possibly being recalled.
I'd also hope we'd be looking for the next Whitbread type of signing for our quota spots. Young/hungrier players on shorter deals with less risk and physically on an upwards trajectory rather than hanging on till retiring.

| Quote: Kettykat "Watch NRL on a weekly basis , and I’d still have him in a heart beat, can’t beat experience and a bloke who’s played at the highest level , or should we tempt keegan Hirst back for a second stint as I’ve read he’s just come out of retirement and signed for batley again , sure if you ask nicely he’d oblige.'"
Ah so you’re one for signing players on past reputation rather what they can actually do now. And you’re from the Kettlethorpe area? You are Chris Chester and i claim my five pounds.

Yet Big spending wire are getting McGuire and Vaughn who are both waaaay past there best. Let’s face it, no middle to top end NRL player will come to SL and sadly for us we are literally left with what ever the big boys either don’t want or have over looked. I wouldn’t have proctor because he’s an absolute trouble causing numpty, but he’s head and shoulders above anything we have at our club no matter how poorly he’s played, because we haven’t exactly pulled up trees this year. If we manage to stay up, and it could be right down to the last game, our recruitment for next year is going to be the hardest for years, so a proctor might sound like a Jeremiah Nanai compared to who we might actually end up with.

Put it this way these ‘big rep’ old boys come with the price tag to match. You could have two Jay Whitbreads for one Kevin Proctor. Which way would you go?

| Whilst were on about forwards , I’ll have to say I wasn’t overly impressed when we signed Whitbread ,probably hoping for a bigger named signing if I’m honest , but boy as he proven himself since coming onboard ,and long may that continue, and seems to be enjoying life down at Belle Vue .Hopefully we can keep him for a few good years .

Yes 100%. Carter said in an interview Norman and Duggan were linked with us, with both wanting silly money apparently. We’ve always had to box clever with recruitment that’s no secret. My point was it’s not only us being linked with over the hill ageing Aussies, sadly the polarisation between SL and NRL is growing every year so these types of players will always be linked about with a lot of clubs.
