Quote: PopTart "Great that you are all having such a great day proving who can think of the most depressing thing and just making things up to prove everything is even more rubbish than it already is.
I am depressed because the club I support is struggling. So leave me out of your little back slapping fest.'"
Sorry to have a go at you PT, but you really have made a rod for your own back with your perennial optimism. It doesn't make anyone who's a realist any less of a fan of Trinity for being so.
I can understand your depression. I'm depressed too, but as words of comfort, hopefully, I can tell you that having been a supporter of WT for 66 years and also a season ticket holder of Barnsley FC for many years in that time I've seen both clubs relegated many times, and whilst the initial feelings of realisation that you are going down isn't very nice, it's amazing how quickly you begin to adapt to the new life supporting a club in a lower division. For a start you can attend a game with optimism (you'll like that), in the knowledge that you might even win a game and not be resigned to yet another defeat. I've noticed that the style of football is more free and easy, and watching a game in a lower division is even more enjoyable than the intensity of Superleague or Premier League. Also, the experience of winning promotion is a great feeling.
Perhaps if you do continue to watch Trinity in the coming season ( which I'm sure you will), it's not all doom and gloom, but there again there's no room for those permanent. rose-coloured glasses.
