I still think 2 years was too long of an extension to his contract. I believe giving Batchelor a 2 year deal and Ashurst 1 would have been better for Wakey. Recruitment is also about knowing when to let players go, not just who to bring in. I would have said thanks for being a great servant and moved on with batchelor pitts tanginoa, Walker and crowther fighting for 2nd row and Loose.

This is the problem W P as had very little to do with a lot of the contracts that have been given

Crowther and Walker are looking at 13.
Tanginoa is the only one who plays left.
So Ashurst is needed .

I thought he had a good solid game, unspectacular but tackled everything and didn't go missing.
If his back troubles are truly behind him he's going to be a key component of the engine room.
