Quote: vastman "By my reckoning by 2024 TJ would be due a testimonial.
If he signs a new deal at the end of this season that is.
It has to be a temptation as he could make a serious cash sum. Sure there will be temptations elsewhere but he does seem to truly love Trinity.
So to kick the whole thing off I’m volunteering for the committee on this one, something I’ve never been tempted to do before. I do this because no other player has given me so much pleasure. He may not be the most important player I’ve seen but he is far and away the most entertaining and exciting bar none. A genuine superstar through the ranks.
I’m offering to do his testimonial brochure for free and pay for the printing (the latter assumes my finances are still ok at the time).
I’ll also do a website for free but I will need help on the social media side.
I know I’m jumping the gun by some way but just thought I’d put it in peoples minds should it happen.
There are a few other players who can’t be far off either?'"
Agree totally about Tom.
It certainly is a huge consideration and one I hadn't thought of -just might tip the scales for him staying.
There's another reason some clubs may be reluctant to sign him - if his dreadful injury run recurs - I sincerely hope the lad has all that behind him, but credit to the club they have looked after him and I'm sure Tom appreciates that.
I'd love to see Tom scoring a couple of length of the field tries at Wembley - how that would lift the club!
