Just speculation on my part obviously, along with what I was told, but with Ashurst, Pitts and Tanginoa all playing the same position then maybe he was training his hardest last year but didn't feel as though he was getting the game time he thought he deserved ??
It would appear that his outstanding performances over the last few games have earned him a new contract and rightly so
