| Quote TimmySmith="TimmySmith"Strongly disagree here fella and for me is what’s wrong with a lot of fan bases. The rules are the rules. Sure it’s disappointing when a try is sent up to the screen and is chalked off but we should be wanting to win on merit, not on a referees mistake.'"
Not like we’re talking about deliberate cheating here or foulplay here. He’s got fortunate with a grounding - not even sure with the ‘downward pressure’ measures they use it would even have been chalked off by VR
I’m delighted we’ve had a touch for once

| My reason for the Sky question was because my understanding is that he would need to retake control of the ball before it hits the ground. It definitely doesn’t matter now but for once we got away with it, probably because no Huddersfield player objected so the referee saw no reason to go to the video ref.it would have gone up as a try but I think based on my understanding it would have been disallowed. What do they say “it is today’s chip paper” if they used newspaper anymore.

| Sorry, let me clarify. I had no issue with the Tanginoa try, it was a hard call and think if it was sent up to the screen it would’ve also been given. My point was in relation to the “think we’re allowed one” purely based on the fact that we’ve had others chalked off in the past.

| Quote PopTart="PopTart"I don't see anything wrong with Wells commenting on the try. It was hardly a clean cut try. If it had gone to the video ref it would have taken them ages to sort and I wouldn't put money on which way they'd go.
How would you feel if that was the Giants winning try?
We'd have a 40 page thread about it.'"
It wasn’t that one for me, it was the Ashalt Bolt tackling in the air, a foul to everyone in the world except for him. He was really aggressive about it though did shut up after a few more viewings.

| At normal speed and without the vid ref Thaler saw the same as everyone else and rightly gave a try. Had Thaler been unsighted and sent it up I guess it would have very dependant on his call. Mountain and molehills spring to mind here for the usual suspects.

| Maybe I’m over simplifying it but the ball didn’t bounce or bobble and there was clear downward force with his right arm. It looked untidy and maybe an element of luck it transferred well to his right arm but was certainly a try.
Honestly don’t see how anyone has a case to argue.

Fair enough if you see it differently but Having watched it again on YT the ball touches the ground after leaving Kelepi’s right arm, so if it did go to VR I could see it being ruled out. It was as you say untidy.

Oh yes I remember that. I thought the same.
Can't remember who but one of the others disagreed with him.

Strongly disagree with you.
It was given as a try - as an "on the field view" had it been sent upstairs it would have still gone up as a try and they wouldnt have enough to overturn it due to that.
Anyway, who gives a sh*t. It was given as a try!!!
