| If I remember right, when Carter took over he sold Amor, Poore, Smith, Cockayne and Aiton. If he hadn’t, we’d have gone into administration and it was made clear to him him that if we did we’d have been kicked out of Super League. Not only did he do the right thing for the club, but the right thing morally as well.
Since then we’ve turned down offers for Kirmond, Johnstone, Fifita, Miller and Tanginoa that we know about. Not only did he steady the ship, he’s sorted the finances that we no longer need to sell players to survive and extended their contracts. Even taking financial side out of it, he’s created an environment where top players want to stay and play at the club rather than move elsewhere. He did what he needed to do and we’re no longer a selling club. Surely we all agree that’s a good thing?

I'm not sure we got a fee for them all but I may be wrong, I think most were released.

The Tim Smith to Salford was the big fee that helped save us. We turned down a 6 figure sum for Kirmond too at the time.

I’m sure we got a fee for all those. I know some were released as well, but I’ve not included them. Either way, to say we’re a selling club now is just ridiculous. Wigan have got rid of more stars recently than we have.

| Its not just about getting a fee but reducing the wage bill that helped keep us afloat

This is what I was told by Michael in the meeting. As stated we had two choices sell and stay afloat or keep and be in admin possibly worse the next month. All happened in a flash.
