We usually struggle with Thaler as a ref as his mum is a Trinity fan so he has extra pressure to prove to be neutral - though I do trust him for honesty more than most

Thaler was he the ref who told the vido ref when he awarded a try to Catalans ,that it was the wrong call and got suspended .What every happens on Sunday think he is one of the better ones

Always thought we’ve done well out of him on the occasions he’s reffed us. What son would want to upset his mum eh?

Ben is a trinity fan himself Kyassor and attends games as a fan when he isn`t reffing (Either that or his mum just drags him along

For me Thaler is the best ref in the league by a country mile, just a fan of how he referees the game in general and I think he knows how to keep control of the game.

That said, I actually think Hicks and Childs have improved over the last year and I don`t think Moore is as bad as he was, it`s tough for them with constantly changing rules.

I’ve never seen him at a game, where does he sit/stand?

My son did a referees course and Ben was his mentor and he said that Trinity were his local team and he wanted them to do well and had watched them occasionally but he wasn’t a fan, not even before he was ref.

My lad didn’t become a ref but that wasn’t Thalers fault.

Yes, I heard something similar. Yet apparently his brother is also a Trinity supporter.
Maybe Ben knew he had to be impartial from a young age!

The first day of magic sounded like an excellent advertisement for the game. I am restricted to listening to Talk Sport 2 because since we left the eu like many things it is not possible to watch Sky sports outside of the U.K. and Ireland. I would usually watch it via the wi fi using my U.K. subscription but apparently something else we decided not to sign up for.
I will do the same again tomorrow hoping for a Wakefield win which I should be able to watch on TrinityTV.
