Quote: Sacred Cow "I take on board what you say and it could well work out well but i'll take issue with the bit highlighted. McDermott coached them in the Ian Leneghan owned era and spent near as damn it full cap. It was the era of Danny Orr, Henry Paul, Mark Mclinden, Rob Purdham, LMS, Tony Clubb, Luke Dorn etc were there and they had on paper a very good side yet their finishing positions got progressively worse whilst he was there. Still it could turn out to be a match made in either heaven or hell but if MC thinks Brian Smith was stubborn and strong-willed wait until he meets Brian Mac!'"
Fair point on the squad, in all honesty can’t remember that far back.
It’s going to be a difficult one as the two I prefer, (which means nothing), in Mac and Ward, on the surface have two different approaches. Which one suits us, the playing group and the board? Not a clue.
