| Shaun Wayne is sat twiddling his thumbs now that the World Cup has been postponed.I have suggested on here before that if he was crowd funded for the first year he would be self financing after that. I don't think he is the man to resist a challenge and would certainly put the self belief back into the players. Our existing squad is far better than recent results have suggested, they just need pointing in the right direction.

I would love Wane at the club, I think he would be the perfect fit for us for where we are at right now, he said he wanted a challenge! Sadly, I don`t think he will come.
Apparently Carters phone has been ringing off the hook this afternoon, so plenty of interest.

| Danny Ward or Brian Mac would do for me.
Would love JD but he probably is carving a good future in the NRL.

He's got the Rabbitohs head coach job full-time from next year. Announced last year.
Ward for me. Did a good job with probably less money and got them fit.
I don't think the Leeds players speak that fondly of Barrie Mac, if I remember from his sacking. Sinfield was quite critical of lack of structure, and it seemed to be very much relying on the instinctive abilities of a golden generation.

| Quote Travelling Wilbury="Travelling Wilbury"Ultimately, I think the club need a strong minded coach, who can instill discipline back into the players and coaching. Just depends whether or not players buy into it. It would appear that they didn't 6 years ago.
I do feel that whoever comes in should be able to change around the backroom staff, given the opportunity. These guys supposedly,do so much work behind the scenes and on the training field.
Out of the ones initially mentioned, I would say McDermott, but it's whether or not he can be affordable.'"
Not for me. McDermott's success have come with big spending clubs, Leeds and their riches (and golden generation) then Toronto who spent full cap in part time leagues. And it took him two attempts to take them up there. When money is less plentiful his record is poor, at London he got sacked after winning 7 of his last 38 games (yes i had to look that up but i knew it wasn't good!) and lost 6 out of 6 in superleague when the cash ran out at Toronto. He's currently 'coaching consultant' at Oldham. They haven't won a game since he arrived. He's not really our kind of coach.

I`m talking about JD helping the club appoint a coach should they choose to look overseas, that`s what the whole post is referring to, having someone to consult with the board to make the correct decision.

Gotcha.
Yes, that would be good.
Ideally, it would be someone who has played over here so gets the UK and the super league (and won't expect NRL facilities).

| Personally i'd go for Danny Ward, i think he's got the qualities needed to get more out of this squad without needing millions to make us competitive. I wouldn't be against bringing in an Aussie assistant coach but we would have to do our research well, for every Justin Holbrook there's a Craig Sandercock.
