| Realistically I think it is the right time for both Powell and Cas, he has taken them as far as he can with limited resources and to me have started to look a bit stale, he has been there 8 years which is long enough for any coach and Powell clearly has bigger aspirations.
Cas fans will be gutted, I think they know they are unlikely to get a better coach than Powell at the moment, although there are plenty of head coaches out there looking for a job. I hear from someone that used to play at the club and worked off field for a while that the board are a difficult bunch to work with...
On a separate note, Chester's deal is up at the end of the season, and Last only signed a 1 year deal, be interesting to see how long we leave it before looking at renewing his deal (I imagine the club will as long as we don't have a disastrous season).

Said quite frequently today as though he’s been operating on an absolute shoestring budget.

But if they call the new Cas retail park Headingley, the people of Leeds will flood there, believing they are at home, even though they are away. ![Very Happy icon_biggrin.gif](images/smilies//icon_biggrin.gif)

| Quote: Willzay "Cas announce Powell to leave at the end of the season. Rumours he’s off to Wire. Hopefully this means we can start beating them lot again.
I don’t think Powell had much to do with us not being able to beat them in recent years. Plenty of teams have beaten Cas in that time.
For me Cas produced a team for whom beating us meant a great deal. Why that happens I don’t know but we were doing it to them for the previous ten years. Don’t think it’s a local lads thing as when we were truly dominant over Cas we barely had any local lads.
It’s just a hoodoo as Toppo used to say. Leeds had it on Ilya for ages at BV now they don’t, it will play itself out when we least expect it, Powell or no Powell

Ah, the memories. No one can take those away from you. I tend to think it better through if the memory works well enough to mean that what is remembered aligns with actual events!

Nothing wrong with my memory, pretty much one way traffic in the 2000’s, when you were actually in SL. ![SHHH eusa_shhh.gif](images/smilies//eusa_shhh.gif)
