Had it all but lacked the ambition I suspect, James Mosely was another at the same time who achieved even less.

James Mosely had lot's of potential, not sure why it didn't work out for him?

My mate used to call it 'playing against the misters', meaning looking great at age level Rugby is not the same as playing grown men with years of experience. Some just can't step up, I think both these players fall into that category. Doesn't make them bad players, just makes the players who can't do it week in week out for money with a crowd on their back. Just like some people have far better voices than most pop stars but can't stand up in front of thousands and sing.

A bit younger, but Tom Johnstone was overlooked by a few clubs but Wakey took a punt and the rest is history there but I struggle to name more, hope the future is better for recruiting. Back on track, I thought Dale Morton was a better player than what people thought at the time.

Stuart Carlton. A lanky centre who was signed in 1968 from Normanton. He was hailed by all at the club as "The new Neil Fox". He lasted a couple of seasons and never lived up to his publicity. I think he moved to Bradford Northern. A massive disappointment.

Also, Scott Lewis. I recall when we signed their kid, Wally Lewis, he came out with the remark.; "If you thought I was good you want to see my younger brother". Another big disappointment.

Did'nt cost us owt! Wally paid his wages.

Ryan Horsley, what a player he was, so much potential.

The club treated him really badly at the time moving him on.

Could have been a great player for Trinity for many years.
