Always believed that specialist coaching can make a difference even in small amounts. It teaches good practice and refines skills.
If he's still around get Frano Botica around to do some kicking training, retain Broughy to do some halfback stuff with the youngsters. Minimal outlay.stuff that could have a positive effect.

I can't think of any profession or activity where to get to the very top you don't do extracurricular work. Whether that be a night school class, extra time at the driving range or picking up an HGV license just in case. Do you think that all the stars of this that and the other have not done stuff off their own bat to get on, of course not? All students who are serious do extra studying, homework as we called it.
The club/employer has an equal obligation to all employees, how on earth would you expect them to find the time and resources to offer further training beyond what they probably already do to individuals? The club will offer a fairly generic physical training regime to all whilst spending most of its time and effort on drills and skills. It's up to the player to enhance himself further if he sees the need, JC clearly wanted to do so.
You wouldn't expect Amazon to train its drivers to drive faster and read maps better so they could deliver more parcels in an hour and thus earn a better peacetime rate, they only expect them to what's required anything else is a bonus too both. It's called pushing yourself, it's not obligatory but to be the very best it is a necessity IMNO unless of course, you are ridiculously gifted, I don't think JC thinks that.

Saying that, the RFL have given the go ahead for all training to restart (following their activity guidance for community game) just over a week ago and some of the trinity first team have been back in training for a few weeks already |

Thanks FT. I’ve just been hearing on the news, a strong possibility of a full lockdown even before Christmas. It’s difficult to see how even elite sports can continue under those conditions. I do hope clubs are able to get a good pre season workout, and that the season does start in March. Everything is so unpredictable at the moment. |
