The biggest farce of all is that there are different rules for Golden Point depending on what division you are in. Would any other sport adopt different rules for it's top flight and it's second/third tier?? It's laughable.

At least have some consistency and say at the end of 80 minutes each team gets a point and then play for the bonus point. At least that way each team gets some reward for getting a draw.

I said it after Friday and I'll say it again, I am very close to giving up on Rugby League due to these farcical decisions/unfair repeat fixtures/Magic weekend and don't even get me started on the standard of "full-time professional" referees.

Just like a penalty shoot out in Football, the golden point is ok when your side wins.
Having said that, the side that wins the toss and receives from the restart has a massive advantage and taking out the argument of whether it's actually neccessary to go through the process in the regular season games, maybe a DG shouldn't be allowed or, perhaps there should need to be a 2 pint margin, although the golden point would of course take longer.

According to Martyn Sadler in League Express they've changed the rules again. Now the winners get 2 points for the win and the losers get a bonus point as there has to be a winner. The only difference it makes is the appearence of the league table where the loser is credited with the bonus point.
