| Quote Pat Bateman="Pat Bateman"Bore off, if you’re going to comment about our players, at least get their names right for a start, it’s Johnstone. Johnstone is a class finisher but his defence reading is clearly lacking. Either way, Cas or Wakey won’t be anywhere near the top 5 so even if Feki scores 30 tries it means squat'"
Do you watch NRL games regularly?
Hes a good English winger in an average SL.I stand by my comment, ten a penny in the NRL.

You're entitled to your opinion, of course, although 'ten a penny' is gilding the lilly a little I feel.
was talking the other night about the 'great' (?) Martin Offiah who was a fast player in an excellent team. He couldn't defend for toffee but he stands perched on a pedestal outside Wembley.
Offiah would never score half the tries Tom does yet he was held in such high esteem.
Tom Johnstone is not yet world class but I think he will be.

Saw an interview with him saying all his family will be cheering him and Cas on and said there wouldn't be any sentiment. He also said he couldn't remember the last time wakey beat Cas and he was demanding to not be part of a side that lost that streak ! He does seem a bit of a character tbf

Yes I do, and I have not seen every NRL winger scoring ones like he did last night. I’ll stand by my comment he is a very good SL winger, who has defensive frailties. But is that him or the system that he plays in. The NRL is a far superior league with superior facilities and coaching. If some of our 10 a penny players went to the NRL, I believe due to this superior coaching and environment they would become world class. Would you say Josh Hodgson would of been a 10 a penny hooker in the NRL or John Bateman being a 10 a penny second rower. Johnstone has all the attributes to be a once in a life time winger for Wakefield, abit like Gaz Ellis coming through, you just know they’re that bit special. And going somewhere like the NRL could be the catalyst ie Ellis.

I have.
Ive seen plenty over the years scored like that at cas,as have Hull fans watching their team,as have Wigan etc.
Acrobatic tries was not invented or perfected by your wonder boy alone.
I suppose if he stays injury free the next few years then all the NRL teams will be queuing up for his signature.
Lets wait and see eh!

He's a Cas player so what do you expect him to say, doesn't stop him not wanting Wakey to win at any other time though does it.
As for his family I bet they were cheering him on last season at Salford as well.

Let’s not, which NRL side is going to take a player with a bilateral ACL reconstruction. I’m just over the moon the lad has over come these shocking injuries and still able to score tries like he did last night. The point I was getting at which you clearly missed due to your negative infatuation with Johnstone is players you think that are 10 a penny might just surprise you when they’re put in a more elite environments, it’s clearly been proven. Even Eden managed a hand full of games for the Broncos didn’t he. Wouldn’t he be 30 a penny in the NRL.

| I think Makinson was the 1st Super League winger to perfect the one handed dive as a regular finish but he doesn't have the pace of TJ. Grace is another who can become airborne as standard but he doesn't have the strength of TJ. I have no problem with the excellent Makinson being 1st choice international although I reckon fully fit Manfredi is right up there too. What pees me off is past it guys like McGilvary and Hall hogging the slots.

| just watched TJ try from last night. outstanding finish, but should have been a walk in. Millers pass selection in the build up to pass to Ashurst was a shocker!

Eden was regarded as one of the worst English imports ever in the NRL.
