Our sport has a purportedly tarnished former Chief Exceutive (Nigel Wood) who left the RFl last year to take up a massively overpaid role as CEO of the global governing body for the sport of rugby league football, now known as International Rugby League (IRL).

The sport of rugby league in the UK needs a long overdue root and branch reform and proper direct investment into the grassroots game, The amateur RL game represents the life and blood of our sport and in certain age brackets is the source of our future talent. Despite being in receipt of annual multi-million pound grants from the likes of Sport England and Sky Try the amateur game has been gradually decimated over the past 10-15 years by the RFL. Amateur clubs are struggling financially, or going bust, whilst the RFL fat cats pay themselves hign salaries for doing naff all - Mr Barwick being a recent classic example.

To be fair JINJER Wales and New Zealand were far from wooden spoon candidates as they weren't by any means the bottom of the pile.

Being incompetent and being corrupt are two different things and you need to go careful.

Incompetence is a subjective opinion a lot of the time, thus the level of proof required to make that assertion is fairly minimal unless you're trying to prove it in a court of law. Most people will let being called incompetent go, mainly because it's not worth the effort to argue as the statement is now so devalued anyway.

Calling someone corrupt is wholly different and has to be proved or else its a slander of the highest order, so much so that the police even have an anti-corruption unit (they don't have an anti-incompetence unit).

I've heard this corruption claim for years but no action has ever occurred, so if you know what's gone on go to the police and ask for the anti-corruption unit and I'm sure they will help. So either put up or drop it would be my advice, this is, after all, a fans forum, what exactly do you expect us to do?

Anyhow, we have evidence and we are contact with the appropriate parties.

I watched about 20 minutes of the first half with one eye; as predicted, it was dull and lacked anything for the non-expert - far too technical and finickity about air over the ruck, bodies over/under the ball and who collapsed a scrum first. All the while, blatantly ignoring obvious knock-ons, and allowing advantage plays for 10 minutes at a time.

I've watched a few of the earlier rounds and arrived at the conclusion that the only time I enjoy the game is when it's played more like RL - Japan being a prime example; lacking the brute strength and size to do that whole ruck and maul thing, they lobbed it around and went to the edges - and as a result, were quite entertaining.

It's tilting at windmills really because it is and always will be a more popular game - and given that it has the whole establishment behind it, that will never change; but I simply cannot get excited by it as a spectacle.

Really? A quick post of the "RFL" followed by "Corrupt" in google brings up plenty - Threads on RLFANS.com, articles from former players, I will point you to only recently a SL club chairman accusing the RFL of been bias to one club over another in the selection and performance of match officials.

Not my view at all tbh, but you cant say he is the only one you have seen allege it, I remember some of the posts on here when the head of refereeing walked down the tunnel at HT at Belle Vue in his Saints jacket....
