Quote: Prince Buster "I agree East should be first.
However I also think the West Terrace should be next. The North stand is more acceptable in that it is part covered and the terrace is at least steep enough to see the game. The West terrace is an absolute joke and whoever designed the terracing needs locking up.
I also think we should be more welcoming to away supporters. They benefit us greatly on a financial basis if we can increase their numbers. I am surprised they even bother to turn up at the moment the way they are treated when they arrive. Further to that I do not want us to act like Leeds. They have a fantastic ground on all three sides but their attitude is, Give the crap uncovered end to the away lot we don't give a toss about them.'"
We always used to stand on the Western terrace by choice and although the terracing is a little low, the condition of the terracing is significantly better than the North Stand.
I take your point about wanting to encourage away fans and that an increase in their numbers helps the club coffers.
However, if/when the facilities improve for the home fans, do you not think that this number will increase and they will turn up every week and not just once a season.
There are a number of grounds where the away fans are catered for equally but, there are enough, where we are second class citizens and often charged a premium for that treatment.
Lets look after no 1 first of all and then worry about the away fans.
In an ideal world, we would have a great view and comfort for all that wish to come along but, right now, it has to be about where the club can maximise the return on their investment and if we were to give the away fans the 5* treatment, while leaving our own fans on crumbling concrete, what kind of message does that send to the loyal home fans.
