| The situation was a bit more complex than him just deciding to leave. Certain people know more than me; but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t that simple.

| Seem to recall him suggesting the club was in trouble on Facebook and loads of people accepted that and backed him up. Where’s that post gone ?

| I could not defend a coach saying that to a player, however, Nick Scruton was one of the players to complain about the hard close season training that Brian Smith had them doing, that is the fittest i have ever seen Wakefield as a team ! Chester certainly benefited as did the players & team ! But I counted that with poor attacking playing tactics which Chester is better at !!!
I love Wakey T, but we are still not fit enough for 80 minutes on a regular basis ! only my opinion !

Tricky balance, I guess. Didn't Chris Chester say when he first moved to us that he aimed to put a smile back on the players' faces? The result of that was an amazing upturn. I wouldn't have a clue where the tipping point is, a player being fit but not enjoying it against a player being fit and raring to go.
Any fitness issues we've had seem to be more to do with older players being a bit busted as opposed to players not being fit across the board. Our problem has been lacklustre first halves, which suggests fitness isn't the issue.

| He did Daddycool. Sounded like sour grapes at the time. I thought he was the perfect match for the club at the time but it would seem his methods didn't make that happen. We did however seem very fit but the early starts didn't go down well.

IIRC Smith’s last game was the win at Hull KR which ironically was Chester’s last game in charge of them.

Funny how sides always look a lot fitter when they are winning and Trinity's problems with ball retention and the fatigue that comes directly form defending additional sets, is the main reason why they sometimes appear unfit. Not to mention having to play busted players from the start in some games, which necessarily increases the work load on the rest.

I hardly think Smith had poor attacking tactics.
He beat Chester for one thing...... And thank God he did.

That wasn't hard at the time though was it, I remember Hull KR having something ridiculous like 14 out of the first choice 17 missing through injury. The fact Chester was sacked on the back of a few poor results with injuries like that is baffling, especially when you look at what he did the season previous with them.
That said, I am glad they did sack him in the end!

| I think their injuries led to their downfall in 2016, which ended up with relegation.
When they had their decent players to pick from, they weren't a bad side. During that season they put 50 on us at our place, and about as many at Cas, but in both of these games, Campese, Blair and Kelly all played, and that was part of their problem that year. It was very rarely that the 3 played in the same side together.
