Slow start last year, not very fit, then seemed to get his act together after a rumoured stern talking to. This year seems to have neglected his off season fitness again which is disappointing.

He broke his fibula in the July before he joined us, so it was no surprise that he didn't start in great shape because he will still most probably been rehabbing going into preseason and behind everyone else and CC will have known & seen this, so I doubt there was any stern talking to, just a gradual improvement in fitness imo. When he broke his leg he was only just back playing after the Motorway pile up he was involved in, that resulted in a dislocated hip, so just about a full season off with serious injuries. IMO he did a great job getting back to play Pro RL full stop, let alone just about getting back to the player he was pre-injuries.

Seems there's a couple of rumors going around about the bloke that are nothing more than that.

Well apart from All blacks not having new changing rooms for 25 years and the community clubs are always fund raising, not getting begging blows out that statement is spot on, and I'd be surprised if i ever hought you were a "top bloke"

Just my own observation of him during the friendly against Hull. Most of the players looked sharp and not far short of match fitness except for Pauli Pauli.

As much as I like Pauli I don’t think all the hype surrounding the chasing of his signature has done him any favours,to be honest I’ve been underwhelmed by his efforts so far on the field .
For me he goes down far too easy for his size and his tackling technique is at times laughable . I’ve no doubt he can do it and hope he proves me wrong .
That’s not to say he won’t knuckle down and Make a big impact on our team this season ,but for me at the moment when fit he’s a fringe player and not the wrecking ball I was hoping he’d be .

best thing about him he is so hard to stop near the try line and he knows how to score tries.......you cant stop him from close range
