| I suppose we should respect Gianttown for trying to improve himself by taking a btec in dog grooming its a tad more sophisticated than just grabbing them by their collar and proceeding with his wicked way

And then when you take into account what they must be paying him to get him over here in the first place!
In all fairness to the bloke though it was his first game back from a horrific injury and was a nothing game, think he will probably come good during the season at some point, just depends whether or not he settles in and is here to play! Was apparently big in the community side of the game when at Newcastle as well which is always a positive for a club.

I think his record speaks for itself and this is absolutely right, an absolutely nothing game in freezing conditions probably wasn't the best one for him to come back to.
If anyone is going to question his talent based on this game then they meed to give their head a good shake.

Yet time and time again we have seen that the this pedigree that we seem to put players on because they have had a good NRL career is setting them up to fail - Who would have questioned Kevin Locke`s talent when joining Salford? Or the like of Inu at Catalan? Until I have seen them perform and make an impact for there club in SL nothing else really matters...
Fans of other clubs bang on about Wakefield not been able to attract/afford these types of player well quite frankly I am glad that we cannot... Give me the likes of Tupou and Fifita any day over Uate and Merrin - They will be on a fraction of the salary and turn up with the right attitude the majority of the time.

| This was a pre season friendly. A warm up. Can't take too much from these games and it's a good job or we'd have a 25 page thread on here about goal kicking. Come the season see if our bogey side comes good, or hopefully an easy 6 points for us.

They are not totally meaningless in that you can gauge fitness and sharpness to a degree.
I thought the Leeds, Hull and Hudds games were played to a fairly competitive level, more so than most friendlies I've seen through the years. The tackling in the Hull game was especially brutal, no doubt a side effect of last years drubbing.
Yes they aren't real games as such but I thought these were three very useful work outs indeed and that we should with a bit of luck hit the ground running at London.
Also only one casualty, which is pretty good going when you consider that Hull and Wigan have generally lost half a team before most seasons even start.

Agreed and I think that it was one of your earlier posts that suggested that players who are confident of a shirt in the opening fixtures dont have to show too much in the warm up games and unless he comes a cropper before the opening round, Uate is nailed on for a starting spot.
He was still disappointing on the night though, I mistakenly thought that he may want to show people just how good he is, rather than just get through.
Time will tell and his reputation will count for nothing is Huddersfield aren't winning too many games.

| Before we played Hudds in friendly some of their fans were of the opinion they were far superior to us in every position.
