| Quote REDWHITEANDBLUE="REDWHITEANDBLUE"It was a council to council loan nothing out of the ordinary here just like when Iceland got into trouble lots of Authorities had loans in jeapordy.
Nothing in the Northampton matter.'"
One of the major differences between the usual council to council loan and this one, is the receiving council is not usually in the process of being abolished. I would think that makes a huge difference.

| I held off from posting this as I was sure some one else would as it seems to be good news. In last weeks League Express Martyn Sadler's column carried the headline "Good news for Wakefield". In it he said "The really good news will hopefully come out in the new year. I'm told there have been some productive talks about the potential redeveloped stadium at Belle Vue
And although there is still some work to do, the prospects now look more promising than they have done for some time.
At the moment I can't say any more than that."
It then gets a little confusing as he starts talking about a new stadium rather than a re-developed one.
"But if we do finally get the go ahead on a new stadium for Wakefield at some point in the New Year, it will surely qualify as one of the most significant moments of 2019".
What puzzles me is that if Martyn Sadler knows then surely the trust or some one at the club would know and would want to share the good news.

The club or trust probably want to wait until everything is signed off of before announcing anything, nothing puzzling about it especially with all the false dawns over the years. Hopefully finally positive stadium news.

| What do you think about re-development/new stadium? I wondered if it may be a re-developed Belle Vue and then some community facilities at Newmarket.

Whichever is most likely
And as long as the redevelopment is descent I'd be happy at Belle Vue..... But a big new stadium would be nice if its affordable.

Tbh I think both sets of fans would accept anything that will at least keep us in SL. We have to be realistic.
I’ll tell you what though, if it is true and it is BV I’d love to hear the explanation as to why the most obvious post NM solision has taken four times longer and I suspect ten times as costly to happen.
Local gov is a disgrace, it actually makes central government look ethical. That’s all parties by the way before Redcat blows a fuse

| Where the he'll is jeopordy, so much seems to be happening there ?
On a serious note, I like all of you, would like a full new stadium, but if a return of Belle Vue is to be the chosen outcome then as I have said before, please don't accept piece meal - a bit at a time over three or four close seasons as that would be disasterous, monies for what ever reason, evaporating/ no longer available etc.
We would need a full four side refurb undertaken in one close season + one full season vacated & one further close season to ensure one full contract build & completion at agreed costs - no slippage a term used in building contracts. We must be wise this time ! ??
This is not impossible, saints had a full new stadium built in this time duration !
I do hope a new stadium gets the go ahead & not a low budget couple of sides - stands -- etc
A full contract is required - water tight to prevent the council & partners pulling out !
Up the Trin.

| Quote FickleFingerOfFate="FickleFingerOfFate"Box is waiting for Wakefield to get kicked out of SL for having a substandard ground, before he gives the rubber stamp go ahead for the Cas ground.'"
I'm not in the habit of jumping to Mr Box' defence - but how can he rubber stamp a £20 million pound stadium, unless he has £20 million down the back of his sofa?
Popular as it is to scapegoat Box - I think he's done all he can for them by way of planning permission and brokering partnerships with a developer - the rest is down to money, and if the developer can't fund it, they won't build anything.

The trust and/or the club don't have to sell newspapers?

I very much doubt rugby fans are going to break sweat to buy a paper on the rumour Wakefield might have an announcement pending about stadium developments, I'll wait until we walk threw the gates before believing it will happen then it will bee a lovely surprise
