WMDC probably have no intention of building a public sports facility . It does not consider the public of wakefield, it does not consider health issues and does not seem to consider what benefits could be achieved by such a development.

Remember the sun lane baths, we must have been the only City in the UK not to have a swimming baths available within the city. How long did it take to buld the new baths after demolishing the old. How much money did the council make from the car park built after the old baths were demolished.
Just what does the council do with the 1.5 million made clear profit from its car park operation. 2014.

I thought I'd read somewhere that all the land round the eastern link road was taken up by developers for housing, the income from selling all this land to developers went directly into the building of the bypass.

Funnily enough , 88M and Yorkcourt will be getting deals from the council to develop on the Eastern ring road and at the college ... you simply could not make up how bent, corrupt and incompetent this whole sorry mess is.

Just been reading that ,houses and flats ,house ,hotel ,doctors surgery are to be built on weldon road. Even the old Hickson and Welch is going to be developed .Not against this ,but its just going to add value to land that the tigers own .All we ask is give the people of Wakefield what they have been promised .

I don't know if they've moved the posts but when Nestle closed down they said nothing could be built on that site as it was a flood risk.

That site as been passed for development as well, completion date is 2021.Box can do what he wants it seems .

Box makes him look like an amateur. For a democratic society to allow someone like box be in unquestioned power for so long is incredible. Other than the grim reaper, there is no one out there who can remove him.

To be fair I drove through Cas for the first time in a while yesterday and if anywhere is need of investment it's that place. I know Wakefield is looking tired, particularly Kirkgate, but Cas is depressing.
