Quote: Trojan Horse "The wire player looked to go low and get bumped off may have copped a knee but it didn’t look like Pauli was doing anything other than driving it in. I get the need for it but I was a bit puzzled at the game. Not seen a penalty in super league myself for that before in all our years. It’s a bit like the downtown penalty. We got penalised last year for downtown despite no interference in play. The week after on Sky exactly the same and the player downtown got involved in play to eventually score (think was cas or Leeds) but it wasn’t penalised like it rarely is. This isn’t a moan atvrefs or some conspiracy btw . I just find it strange or unlucky.
One thing that worries me is maybe how the officials perceive Wakefield team this season. We have been pinged and destroyed by officials against Wigan and Warrington around the ruck with penalties. That needs to stop.
The one thing I didn’t like at Wire was we made a number of breaks but a number of times ref held up play and wakey lost momentum. A wire player got bumped off Pauli and we got on front foot with an offload and the ref stopped play and ran to the wire player who was having a nice stretch and then run back to the defensive line that was then set. Think this needs to be looked at in more detail around how and when play is stopped.'"
Tbf, I thought he looked in a bit of trouble the way he was laid, his demeanor on the ground, I'd have probably stopped it.
Turns out there was FA wrong with him, but Child wasn't to know that, or anybody else for that matter.
A quid say's that'll be the new slow down at pob this season, go down like a sack of spuds and don't move, its risky, you might get taken off for your brains inspecting but if you are due a sub anyway it won't matter.
There were quite a few half tackles that Child deemed tackle complete, you could tell that wasn't the players understanding of a completed tackle by their confusion.
I'm not down on Child, its just you don't know where the hell you are with him half the time, I mean, there were loads of wtf decisions for both sides, does that even it up?.....I dunno......I'd rather not be wondering if I'm honest, Pauli had at least a couple of harsh decisions against him which turned the ball over, so I suppose it depends what the circumstances are, a penalty for that attacking side is one thing but cheap turnover is irritating as hell especially if its clearly a Childizm.
