| Then they wonder why we hate Leeds so much. The penalty try was pure injustice. Corruption in sport has been around a long time.I bought the dvd of the match some time ago; watched it once and can't bear to watch it again. The suicide story is correct although I understood that it was in connection with a shoplifting charge. David Hinchliffe's book, "They Walked on Water" is a good account of the game if you can bring yourself to read it.,

| I watched it last night and saw the horrendous decision for the first time since I watched the game live.I wish I hadn't. Leeds had very arrogant players at the time and were gifted the challenge cup. My hatred of them remains.
sadly, the final is remembered for Don's missed kick but he didn't lose us the game, the referee did.

| We've lost twice at Wembley and neither referee has survived to the next final.

| its one of the few games will always be remembered unfortunately its just hard to take for the wakey fan.
It was my first visit to Wembley and I can remember it as if it was yesterday.
My last visit to Wembley v Widnes doesn't hold any memories

| Yes I remember it well. Threw it down just before the kick off. Had it not been the Challenge Cup Final it would surely have been abandoned. Then had another go at half time. Lucky Leeds as usual, can do no wrong.

| Was only 3 at the time, so don't remember watching it....saw the programme last night and now I know what all the controversy was about...I have always hated Leeds just because every time we got a good player they just got the cheque book out and stole him....now I have even more reason to hate them...they spoiled my 3rd birthday !!!

| Never an obstruction. And even if by some miracle it was, they would have had to have had rocket propelled boots to get to the touchdown.

| IT was my first time at Wembley, 12 years old. I cried my eyes out at the time and felt the tears welling up again last night.
