Quote: Slugger McBatt "Unfortunately, we'll only find out at the end of everything. Thinking pragmatically, if Box and Co don't intend to deliver a stadium, one will not be delivered, regardless of who is on the Trust. If, however, Box wants to deal with different people because he wants to avoid blame for the delay, by saying that it was the attitude of the original Trust that was the stumbling block, but a stadium follows, I can live with that. Let him have his day on the winners podium.
The issue is whether any new Trust delivers a stadium on terms acceptable to the club. If not, then it stinks. If so, fine. It's the desired outcome that matters, not how it is achieved.
The fact that Eric was on the Trust until last week, and is a fan of the club, just makes me think it might be okay, and that this is Box's way of saving face when the new Trust achieves the deal.
If the end result is nothing, it was always going to be nothing, and we've lost nothing, but I cant see Eric wanting to be part of that.'"
I understand what you are saying, however, IF you are correct in your assumptions, that would point to MC & CB being the "stumbling block" and quite frankly, after all that they have done for Trinity since they took over, I just dont buy it.
Of course they have a substantial stake in Trinity and they would be expected to, first and foremost, protect that stake.
However, this just smells like Box STILL not wanting to enforce any stadium build, despite what has gone on at Newmarket and with Newcold and that he wishes to deal with his "cronies".
The issue that irks most Trinity fans is that any new stadium/re-build / community facilities, looks further away now than they have ever done and as a Trinity fan for 30 years and having been through thin and thinner and protested outside County Hall and the Town Hall, it breaks my heart that the political will in the district, to get this done, still remains at ZERO.
Massive credit is due to MC & CB for the position the club both on and off the field, which apart from the stadium, is the best it's been for all of the 30 years that I've been following Trinity and this is utterly in spite of those who have put and are still putting self interest above Wakefield Trinity.
Box must laugh when he considers the cul de sac that Trinity are being driven down and it's an utter disgrace that this can happen in a democracy, both at local and National level.
