One of my sons played in the same team as him at Stanley Rangers, his mam and dad used to call him the pocket rocket, Ian Sampson who was coaching the under 8's over heard them and thought they were calling him rocky and it's stuck from there. |

I think he balances our side up perfectly.
Except for one are. Nothing to do with Ryan but we don't have a backup kicker to Finn anymore.
I wonder who will take that on now.

Joe Arundel has done a bit of goal kicking, so if he was in the side I would expect it to be him. Then Miller.
huby kicked 43 goals (for castleford?) previously....
Grix has kicked 31....
Theres a few that could fill in, but I doubt any would be to the calibre of Finn. |

Miller kicked a few goals for us in 2015. Different skill set, but his drop goal from half way, in a pressure situation, to me would give an indication that he has got a decent boot on him.
On the other hand, Hampshire kicked 24 goals in his Wigan days, and if he is going to take over long term from Finn, then potentially, he could end up being the kicker.
Also, should he get his chance, and go well, doesn't Ackroyd kick?

That was total freak, all Millers other attempts have failed not that there are many. I seriously doubt he will ever come close to kicking one like that again. Joe Lydon did an even more spectacular DG but I don't recall him ever repeating it. |

Goal Kicking is vitally important, to have any chance of doing well we need a quality kicker on the pitch, Finn ticks that box, Miller and Arundel don`t .
Hampshire does, so does Schofield in the under 19`s

Yep, i think the only kicker with a higher success percentage last season was Sneyd and he very rarely misses a goal.
The amount of very close games we had last season just shows how how important a good goal kicker is, but i think we all know that. |
